@@lindamurphy2776 depends on your neighborhood. You can look at other houses and see how people keep their homes. I look at everything from the grass to the garage cans. But ultimately I don’t want to buy a huge home and then have to ask to do certain things to my home.

I totally caught your drift at house #3’s neighborhood 😂, I’m the exact same way, that neighborhood will probably go downhill in about 3-5 years, and the homes are too close together for my liking. Coming from a family who invested in properties with extensive amounts of land, I really dislike how they are building homes so close together these days. @@nikitavalicia4939 my family right now is sitting on almost 40 acres deep in the country of Georgia and I really wish it was in another location because I would build a dream home and a huge wedding venue or some type of business. HoA is fine as long as the fees are not rudiculous, I like them to regulate the neighborhood. Some people treat their yards like trash and bring down the value of your home and block. You should want your home outside to look nice and manicured without trash laying around your yard. If you don't care about propery then don't get HOA.
@ I always look at the neighborhood and I have seen some WITH HOA’s and I’m like I would never live here. Grass not cut trash all in the front so it truly depends on how strict the neighborhood is and how nice. But their are definitely pros and cons to both
Congrats, Charlotte n suburbs r nice. I would think twice about a hot water heater(non gas) n laundry room upstairs. A big problem if u have a leak n u r away. Could be a big mess. U forgot about ur grand staircase when u saw the island. Also the new home smell of the second home. Take ur time, slow down n get what “ You”really want.

I bought a new home in a brand new community but if I had to do it again i would probably by a home that was a few years older in a more established neighborhood. But all of that can come with extra costs. Older homes are more expensive these days. But if you are wanting a bigger yard thats the way to go unless you have the finances to buy your own land which isn't easy in the Charlotte Metro. There really is no land to buy. I would look in SC for a home honestly.Thats where I bought.

Buy some land and have a house built. Build a large shed to work out of , so work would not be in your home. Or get a house with a lot of land and buy a large shed and work out of it. Of course you would have to make it weather proof and security proof. Just an idea.

Buying a house/building a house is better than paying mortgage it’s a big difference.. mortgage last for yearsss in most cases it like paying rent!!
